This books shows the shocking scale of the so-called “superrich”, in German she prefers to call them “Überreiche”, or “uber-rich”. Linartas shows that in Germany, wealth is given from generation to generation with little movement between the classes. A big part of this problem is the lack of proper taxing, something that is entirely solvable but often dismissed with absurd arguments. She also explains how the sheer existance of people having more wealth than the GDP of an entire country presents immense dangers to democraties and the environment.
Incredible book, I loved the pseudonymized interviews of industry leaders that show how they think. She makes it plain and obvious that taxing the rich is something we can and we must do, and she goes even further talking about a basis inheritance for everyone.
