A comic version of a white guy with short hair, smiling.

Lola is 15 when her mother, Helene, gets up from the dinner table and, without any warning, jumps from the balcony. Helenes best friend, Sarah, steps in temporarily and gets to experience the full force of what’s taken for granted from the woman in a family. Lola and her friend Sunny get jumped by three boys, and they decide to get strong and defend themselves. Then they fight back.

You can feel the sadness and the loss—and you can feel the female rage. You get a glimpse on what real gender equality could look like. I loved the book.
